Drool-Worthy Video: American Time-lapse Ad

Wednesday, July 28th, 2010

OK, so we never really feature big budget material as a drool-worthy video, but this one cannot be skipped for the time-lapse lovers in all of us.

As you know, we at camarush are huge time-lapse fans, as seen in the invention of our camalapse product (which was subsequently written about on Gizmodo this week, as well as many other blogs around the world). Don’t have a camalapse? Get one here!

Ah-hem, let’s get back to the *other* advertisement. Anyhoo, Levi’s paid a team of guys to travel across the US of A doing an incredibly unique time-lapse looking stop motion video. This is a time-lapse to rule the rest! It took 14 days of travel across the States in an RV, taking meticulous scene measurements all the way, for each individual frame. Before I go on, check it out here:

Awesome, huh? Still don’t think so? You have to check out the “making of” video. There, you will see that this video was made up of 2,770 individual, planned-out shots. I can barely plan out one shot, much less 2,770!

Have an awesome video or movie that you would like up for contention on our blog? Give us a shout on Twitter, Facebook, or our forum!

camarush attends “Follow Me” film screening

Friday, April 23rd, 2010

Last night, we had some time to take in an early showing of “Follow Me”, a great new mountain biking flick by the Anthill Films crew. The film, part of a fundraiser for the Los Gatos High School Mountain Biking team, had some incredible editing, great camera angles, and of course, stellar riding.

On hand was Cam McCaul, pro rider, and one of the stars of the film.  He probably had some of the most insane moves in the film.  Super aggressive riding and some insane jumps to go with it.  One of the really neat sessions was the dirt riding in the middle of nowhere of Baha, Mexico.  Some new styles of that footage that I personally have not witnessed.

camarush was on hand and we donated a free rental away to a lucky raffle winner.  We aren’t sure as to who it was, as we had to leave right after the viewing, but hope to send it out soon!  We also dished over some extra raffle tickets to some young kids, and hopefully they made the most out of them.

Here are some really weak iPhone shots of the event!

Drool-worthy Video: Collin Harrington Wakeboarding

Friday, April 16th, 2010

Oh man, talk about the camera angle of the year, this one is up for definite contention!  Collin Harrington and friends decided to mount a couple of GoPro HD Hero cameras onto a pole and follow the current wakeboarder on a jetski, getting right into the camera’s lens.  Results= siiiiiiiiick!

Can’t wait to see more from these guys.  And we also want to visit that glassy lake on our own wakeboards!
